Cutting Larger Than The Mat With Your Silhouette Cameo

The Silhouette Cameo is capable of so many things, but one of the most common questions we hear is "how do I cut larger than the 12"x12" mat?".

The magic for all this happens in the Silhouette Studio software, standard and designer editions.

To accomplish this feat is really simple, but if you donlt know where to go to get started it can certainly be frustrating.

Whether you are using the Cameo or the SD doesn't matter. You will set this in the software.

So open up Silhouette studio and choose the "page tools" menu. Then from the page tools menu set the "cutting mat" setting to "none".

Then lastly enter in the width of your media. This can be a bit confuing, because it is really the length of your media, but it is called width in the software. So if you want to cut a 12"x24" sheet of vinyl you would enter in a width of 24".

With all this done you will now have a work area the size of your media on the screen.
